Air Technology Makes Long Rides Enjoyable on an AirHawk®
After a long day of riding, no one wants to walk like a bow-legged cowboy from a bad Spaghetti Western. AirHawk® International’s comfort seating system uses a patented air technology to distribute a rider’s weight, eliminating those troublesome “hot spots.”
AirHawk® cushions mount on top of the existing seat, secured by included adjustable straps.
The interconnected air cells inside the cushions work as mini shock absorbers to reduce vibration, and they allow air from outside to flow through the system, reducing moisture and body heat buildup. The cushions are also designed to conform to a rider’s body.
The latest air-cushion products from AirHawk® are the Cruiser R in two sizes and a Dual Sport model.
The large Cruiser R is 14 inches deep and 14.5 inches wide, making it a good choice for big cruisers, sport-touring models and non-touring Harley-Davidsons. The small Cruiser R, at 11 inches deep and wide, is better suited to smaller sport-touring models, sport bikes, dual sports, standard motorcycles, and as a passenger pillion.
The “Stress Relief” design of the Cruiser R reduces pressure points, and the front air cell heights are lowered to let the legs sit comfortably. A non-skid bottom material adds stability, and the cover is a breathable mesh.
Compared to its Cruiser R counterparts, the Dual Sport cushion has a distinct wedge shape. It is designed to fit the narrower front of dual sport and adventure motorcycles, although it is also a viable choice for sport touring bikes, standards, sport bikes and a range of non-touring Harleys.
AirHawk® comfort cushions arrive in a box with everything needed for installation: the air bladder, breathable cover and adjustable straps. The bladder inflates via a small valve that twists open and closed, allowing for easy inflation and fine-tuning.
